Hello Protocol!

If you haven't heard yet, we have some new staff members around the server. After a week of nominating and a week of voting, we, as a community, have selected two outstanding members to help moderate and lead us in our Minecraft lives.

There was an overwhelming majority of votes for both LoMaGeRiC and Ranrgamer. I believe them both to be helpful and kind players and I look forward to working with them.

Don't be afraid to ask them for help whenever you need it. Even if they can't help you directly, they will fast-track your issue to someone who can.

Thank you all for nominating and voting! I wasn't sure that this somewhat more complicated system would work out, but together we were able to identify members who will make great Moderators.

If you'd like to read a little more about the election results, see this thread.

P.S. Sorry for the late post, I had to do several things and I forgot about the front page. At least it gave me the time to write a different message rather than a straight cross-post.

Obviously, we are no where near old Protocol levels, but at least we are moving away from the ghost town of last month.

Notably, I believe the player count increase is due to a rise in new player retention (new players are at least lasting more than five minute on the server). I attribute this rise to the new spawn, which makes the server a lot more appealing than my ugly platform. I apologise that implementing a proper spawn took so long, the downing of the last server was bad timing for me.

Today is a Monday (or a Tuesday if you live near me), which is usually a quiet day on the server (read: no players on). Yet, I can currently see ten people on the server right now.

Obviously, it is possible that the new players are simply griefers but I'm optimistic that Protocol can gain some of its previous shine if we can continue at this pace.

Thanks for staying with us and welcome new members!

-hyperring
